The Young Rider National Championships celebrates and recognizes endurance riders ages 16-21, and 14-15 years olds who have met all requirements for riding unsponsored.

The 2024 AERC Young Rider Championship is set for August 16 at Outback Station in Central Oregon, 25 miles east of La Pine. Trails are a mix of single- and two-track, with some gravel road. Great footing with minimal rock; hoof protection is recommended.

Young Riders who meet the following qualifications are invited to enter the Young Rider Championship:

1. AERC Member in good standing
2. Open to riders aged 14-21
3. Equine must have 300 Lifetime Endurance Miles (no LD mileage will count)
4. Rider must have 300 Lifetime Endurance Miles (no LD mileage will count)
5. Rider and Equine must have completed one of the following together:
a. One 100 Mile Ride as a Team
OR
b. One 75 Mile Ride as a Team
OR
c. Two 50 Mile Rides as a Team with a letter of recommendation from your AERC Regional Director OR AERC International Regional Representative
6. All riders must have completed 100 AERC Endurance miles unsponsored.
