                                                             BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
                                                                 February l, 1976 Sacramento, CA

 

President Sam Arnold called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.. The following members of the Board of Directors were present for this second meeting during the Awards Banquet weekend for 1976:

The following issues were discussed at length, voted on and passed in the order they are presented:

 

RIDE SANCTIONING: Effective February 1, 1976, only those endurance rides of 50 miles or more will-be sanctioned by AERC.

 

BONUS POINTS: The winning horse of a 100 mile ride will receive 100 bonus points. The winning horse of a 50 mile ride will receive 50 bonus points. The horse earning the Best Condition Award on a 100 mile ride will receive 50 bonus points. The horse earning the Best Condition Award on a 50 mile ride will receive 25 bonus points.

 

WEIGHT DIVISIONS: AERC will not recognize weight divisions for nation wide awards. However, Regional weight divisions with trophies awarded by those Regions are encouraged.

 

1976  MEMBERSHIP DUES:

 

$I0.00 for INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES - 1 Vote

$15.00 for FAMILY MEMBERSHIP DUES      - 2 Votes

 

1976 membership dues are payable when 1975 dues expire. Check your AERC membership card for renewal date.

 

SOUTHWEST REGIONAL BOUNDARIES: This boundary line will remain as changed in 1975 for at least one more year until the effectiveness of the change may be studied by the Board.

 

AVAILABLE RIDE FACILITIES: AERC suggests that Ride Management publish in their ride brochures what toilet facilities, food and water, etc., are available to riders and what provisions have been made for horses upon their arrival.

 

FINANCIAL STATEMENT - NEWS RELEASE: The Board voted unanimously that a financial statement and results of the 1, 1976 Board of Directors meeting be mailed to all AERC members immediately.

 

SANCTIONING FEES: As of January I, 1976 those rides that are sanctioned by AERC upon application by the ride to AERC that do not pay their sanction fee of $1.50 per rider, within 30 days after their ride - WILL NOT HAVE POINTS RECORDED FOR 1976 HIGH POINT AWARDS. Rides that are not sanctioned by AERC before their ride date - WILL NOT RECEIVE POINTS.

 

NOTICE TO ALL AERC MEMBERS:

1976 rides of 50 miles or more that are sanctioned by AERC will be required to complete a form for ride sanction - such as the enclosed sample - and return it to AERC before they are sanctioned. If the $1.50 fee per rider and the ride results are not mailed to AERC within 30 days after the ride POINTS WILL NOT BE RECORDED FROM THOSE DELINQUENT RIDES TOWARDS REGIONAL OR NATIONAL AERC AWARDS FOR 1976.

AERC RIDE RESULT FORMS WILL BE MAILED TO EACH SANCTIONED RIDE AS THEY ARE SANCTIONED.
