The last five miles of the OD trail are preceded by a vet check at Liberty Hall at the base of Land's Run trail going up and over the Blue Ridge Mountain in Shenandoah National Park.  This is the daylight view of the Blue Ridge that th.....

The first leg of the OD trail crosses the gentle Shenandoah Valley floor through beautiful farmland and cattle fields enroute to the Shenandoah River.  The Massanutten Mountains are in the background where the 50/75/100 mile riders wil.....

This trail encompasses the farthest most point for the 100 mile riders as they head south after the Camp Roosevelt vet check at the 40 mile point, ride the length of Catback Mountain, and then swing back north heading towards the Hickory La.....

The most famous -- or infamous-- climb in the OD is up the very steep rocky western face of the eastern ridge of the Massanuttens on a trail known as Sherman's Gap.  This is the 80 mile point for the 100 milers, but only the front runn.....

The 75 and 100 mile riders see this section of the OD usually at a fast canter or gallop.  This wide gravel fire road between the Little Fort vet check at mile 68 and Pickett Springs vet check at 80 miles is one of the few flat section.....
