The Mudhole Gap Trail at about the 75 mile point of the 100 mile trail leads down off the western ridge of the Massanuttens to the vet check at Pickett's Springs -- the last check in the Massanutten valley before the trail climbs up Sherman's Gap on the eastern ridge.
