Last updated 12/2/08, tms AERC New Members Resource
Page
This
page is intended to help new AERC members get started in the sport of endurance - whether you are a new rider or an experienced rider and new to endurance.
If you have any questions about endurance or limited distance riding, feel free to call the AERC office – the toll-free number is 866-271-2372. The office staff will be happy to assist you. A wide variety of information is available at our website www.aerc.org Among the first things you may want to read are the links where information on conditioning, electrolytes, and what a ride is like is discussed. AERC Riders Handbook Attending a Ride: A General Overview, Tack, Conditioning, Pacing in competition, crewing, and much more. An excellent place to start. Available online or a paper copy by contacting the AERC office. AERC New Member Information See especially http://www.seraonline.org/Conditioning and http://www.endurance.net/newbie/
Local clubs and associations Tips for your first ride
How to find AERC members in your area to ride with or answer questions: You can look up members by city, state, and zip code from the members directory at your members page. To login to your members page, click on the "Activate your AERC online members page" at http://www.doublejoy.com/aerc/mbr/
Use your email as the Login ID and chose a password. Once you have logged in, click on
Services - then Member Directory. Don't hesitate to call or email members in your area to see if they will ride with you or suggest someone who might.
If you have a question that you would like to ask the AERC Education Committee, click on the link at http://www.aerc.org/Education_Questions.asp Another good resource for help is your regional AERC Directors. You can find a listing of them with contact information. For your first endurance ride, plan to ride with an experienced rider. Either go with one from your area or explain to the ride manager that it's your first ride and ask to be introduced to an experienced rider so that you can ride with them. If you have suggestions for adding material to this page please let the AERC office know. Contact the AERC office if you have any questions using this page. |
