Junior Rider of the Month
Meet Junior Jinell Breshears

|
I have been around horses most of my life but I didn't start to think about endurance until my grandmother, Linda Dollar, let me ride her gentle mare, CA Misty Myvanwy. I did my first ride at the Quicksilver Fall Classic in 2000, doing the 30 miler. I had a lot of fun but I was pretty tired. I did my first 50 miler in 2001 and then I did four 50 milers in 2002.
I started riding CJ a few years ago. He is a 15.3H bay, Arab gelding. He gets a little hyper at the start but is a lot of fun to ride. I can ride him bareback with a halter at home. I am 12 years old now and CJ is 13 years old. I got first junior in one ride, winning a really nice green blanket for my horse. I also came in third overall in one ride.
I really just love going to the rides and meeting people. I go with my grandmother and my mother (Deborah Breshears) and help them if I don't ride. I like to crew for them and I can always find someone to help me get out to vet checks. I do a good job of showing my horse for the vet. And also help my grandmother show her horse at the trot out. I enjoy meeting people and then seeing them again at the next ride.
